How to edit which Actor a Xbox controller is?

I have a wired xbox controller that automatically moves from Player i to Player 2 mid-game. Any idea how to get the controller to exist recognized as Histrion 1 or Controller 1 without a reboot?

Hi,

Found on forum describing similar result.

The solution that worked all-time for me was unplugging all other controllers (Salvage for your keyboard, mouse, and 360 pad).

Then become to Command Panel->"Game Controllers" (In Vista/7, merely type Game Controllers into the start menu search).

Once there, click "Advanced", select the 360 Controller from the drop-downwardly, and and so hitting Ok both times. That should set the 360 controller to "Primary".

Then launch the game, get to Options, and switch "Player ane Input" over to the 360 controller.

I am Windows 10 Dwelling house user. Version 10.0.17134. I am not seeing a Primary option in Game Controllers nether Control Panel. Restoring to default does zippo.

A reboot fixes the issue. However this happens every single time I play a game for 5+ minutes and so a reboot each fourth dimension is not a solution. Each time I remove a controller or USB device from the Device Managing director, a reboot is needed as well. I have read some things that the issue is actually Xbox software on Windows 10.

After my search, the reboot does work out, but as you said, it'southward non a solution. For Windows 10, nosotros could try to reinstall the commuter. Then I consider that you could check for update. A later version might solve this problem. Of course this could be an Xbox software issue, and so I suggest you lot go to the Xbox Forum for Back up before. They know more about Xbox products.

From the Toms thread, information technology was a windows update problems. I am upwards to date with drivers and windows updates.

Yes, for 10 box software, it may havecompatibility or functional problems. Uninstall it could exist a method. What I wasn't certain most was whether I could make a change without uninstalling information technology. So ask to Xbox forum is a better fashion. They'll exist more familiar with Xbox products.
